A334 Grade 9 is a high-strength, low-alloy carbon steel with 1.60–2.24% nickel. It has a composition with a maximum of 0.20% carbon, 0.40–1.06% manganese, and up to 0.50% silicon. This grade provides at least tensile strength of 450 MPa and at least yield strength of 240 MPa. These mechanical properties qualify A334 Grade 9 tubing for use in applications demanding high strength and effective resistance to corrosion and oxidation.
