FORA 500 wear-resistant steel plates consist of a low-alloyed steel with a maximum carbon content of 0.30%. The major alloying elements are manganese (max. 1.60%), silicon (max. 0.70%), chromium (max. 2.00%), nickel (max. 0.60%), and molybdenum (max. 0.60%). These elements promote the steel’s hardness and wear resistance. Mechanical properties are a Brinell hardness of 460–540 HB, yield strength of about 1350 MPa, tensile strength of 1700 MPa, and elongation of around 10%. These properties suit FORA 500 plates for high-impact and abrasive applications.
