Grade 70 SA 516 Carbon steel sheets and plates are made of carbon (0.27–0.31%), manganese (0.79–1.30%), phosphorus (maximum 0.035%), and sulphur (maximum 0.035%). Excellent tensile strength (485–620 MPa) and a minimum yield strength of 260 MPa are provided by these plates. They work well at moderate and lower temperatures and have outstanding notch toughness.
